San Diego Beaches

San Diego of course, is known world wide for its beaches. The northernmost, La Jolla Cave, is one of the prettiest spots in the world. A palm lined park sits on the top of the cliffs. Rough water swimmers like the cove and divers and snorkelers can explore the underwater delights of the San Diego-La Jolla Underwater Ecological Reserve. The Children’s Pool, a shallow lagoon at the south end, is a good place to watch seals and sea lions.

Pacific Beach runs roughly from Crystal Pier to the north end of Mission Beach. A sidewalk and a bike path border the shoreline, and there are picnic tables along the way. There are designated surfing areas and fire rings are available.

Mission Beach, San Diego’s most popular draws huge crowds on hot summer days. A wide board walk is busy with strollers, roller skaters and cyclists year round. The 2 mi-long continuous stretch extends from the north entrance of Mission Bay to Pacific Beach.

Ocean Beach is a heaven for volleyball players, sunbathers and swimmers. You can fish off the pier without a license or just have your fish in the restaurant at the middle.

Coronado Beach is perfect for sunbathing or Frisbee throwing. There are rest rooms and fire rings; parking can be difficult on busy days.

Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado has relatively calm water an RV camp ground and places to roller blade or ride bikes.

Miami Beach restaurants, shops

Made up of 17 islands in Biscayne Bay, Miami Beach is a separate city from Miami. In recent years “American Riviera” has received the carefree spirit of the early 1920s by renewing its South Beach area. Today South Beach revels in world glory as a lure for models and millionaires. The hub of South Beach is the 1 square mi Art Deco District which stretches along Ocean Drive and is the most talked about beachfront in America. About 800 significant buildings in the district are listed on the National Register of Historic Places – it is the nation’s first 20th century district to be honored as such.

Begin your tour of the Art Deco District at the Art Deco District Welcome Center. Proceed north past pastel hue Art Deco hotels (outlined in brilliant neon at night) on your left and the palm fringed beach on your right. You will also pass the magnificently restored Casa Casuarinas home of the late fashion designer Gianni Versace. The neighborhood’s two main commercial streets are Collins Avenue, on block west of Ocean Drive and one block farther west Washington Avenue. The latter is a colorful mix of Jewish, Cuban, Haitian and more familiar American cultures, containing delicatessens, avant-garde stores, produce markets, shops selling religious artifacts, and many of the city’s best restaurants and night clubs. Espanola Way off Washington is a quaint avenue with a youth hostel, clubs restaurants and ethnic shops a later afternoon flea market is held here each Sunday. Three blocks north is the Lincoln Road Mall, a lively pedestrian shopping street with upscale restaurants, eclectic shops and great people watching.

Marai Beach - Kerala Tourism

Another Tourist attraction place in Kerala is Marai Beach. It is very near to Alleppey and away from Cochin just 60 kms. The climate here is humid and warm. the best months to viist Marai Beach is between December and March.

Maraikulam from this word Marai arrives. This is peaceful land you can relax. Here people live peacefully and they live simply. Men go to sea every day and sell the daily catch and live happily. You can enjoy the people’s hospitality here.

Marai is white sand beach with coconut trees along side and lotus pond. Marai Beach Resort is famous and you can stay here at a reasonable rate (i.e. around $250) per day.
