The Black Hills tourism
As with the rest of the State, many of this region’s attractions don’t have firm closing date or opening dates, primarily because of the vagaries of the weather in the Dakotas and rely simply on the level of tourist traffic to dictate when they close or open for the season. Some attractions are open in summer (often Memorial Day – Labor Day) be sure to call ahead before you visit.
The crown jewel of South Dakota’s 13 park system is Custer State park which has 73000 spectacular acres of grass lands and pine-covered hills that are home to bison, deer big horn sheep prairie dogs and pronghorn. Storybook Island lets children romp through scenes from fairy tales and nursery rhymes.
