Appalachian Mountains and Great Lakes in US

Appalachian Mountains
The Midwest is America, that prototypical vision of neat farmland, affluent suburbs, and compact, skyscraper downtown strung together along purposefully straight sliver highways. Unlike the stark Great Plains to the west, this is gently rolling landscape, defined by great geological features to the east, the Appalachian Mountains, to the north, the Great Lakes, to the south, the Ohio River, to the wet, the majestic Mississippi.

During autumn in early September in the Labor Day weekend the Detrait Jass Festival attracts more than 7,00,000 jazz fans every year. During the third week of October weekend the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon draws runners from all over the World. Best time to visit the Midwest and the Great Lakes is Summer.
